About me

I run VaccinationsForTravel.com.au as an independent consumer-information publisher. I am not a medical professional. I am an editor and researcher whose role is to gather, verify, and present what Australian government and international public-health bodies say about travel vaccinations — in a form that is easier to navigate than the source documents themselves.

I started this site after spending several hours threading together information from Smartraveller, the Australian Immunisation Handbook, WHO travel-health publications and a handful of clinic websites just to plan one trip’s vaccinations. The goal of this site is to do that aggregation work once, openly and transparently, with every claim citable back to a primary source.

Editorial standards

Every clinical claim cites a primary source

Vaccine recommendations on this site are taken from the Australian Immunisation Handbook (the official guideline of the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation, ATAGI). Country-specific advisory information cites Smartraveller destination pages by URL. Disease epidemiology and global recommendations cite WHO International Travel and Health and the CDC Travelers’ Health Yellow Book. Where vaccine brand information is given, it is verified against the Therapeutic Goods Administration register.

What this site does not do

Updates and corrections

Country pages are reviewed against current Smartraveller advisories at least quarterly. When a destination experiences a notable outbreak (e.g., the 2023 dengue surge in Bangladesh, the 2019 measles outbreak in Samoa, the 2024–2025 Sudan-strain Ebola outbreak in Uganda), the relevant page is updated promptly. The most recent review date appears in the byline of each page.

If you find an error or believe a recommendation is out of date, please email me. Corrections are made promptly and noted on the page.

Funding and conflicts of interest

This site has no commercial relationship with any vaccine manufacturer, travel-clinic chain, or pharmaceutical company. Future revenue is expected to come from advertising (Google AdSense), unrelated affiliate links (e.g., travel insurance), and possibly paid clinic listings. Any such relationships will be disclosed clearly on the relevant pages.
